AsUR Your Path to Finding Personal Purpose After Significant Military Service

ASUR operates with the aim of guiding discharged female career soldiers after significant military service in finding their purpose in the “day after” within the job market, fostering meaningful work, and advancing women to positions of influence.

From The Marker: “In my third year of university, I founded the initiative, AsUR – Your Way, which helps discharged female soldiers find their purpose in the job market. In military service, we perform significant and broad roles at a very young age, and then we transition to civilian life and discover that it’s not easy to explain and translate everything we did in the army into terms that the civilian world recognizes and values. Additionally, it’s mentally challenging to make the shift from a meaningful and ideological role to work in the private sector. I felt all of this myself.”

About

The AsUR – Your Way program has been operating since 2023 to guide discharged female career soldiers in the job market. It is the first flagship program designed for discharged female soldiers, intended for women who have completed significant military service and who possess ambition, boldness, and an entrepreneurial spirit to find their personal purpose in civilian life.

AsUR was born from the understanding that female soldiers who have held broad, high-responsibility roles at such a young age struggle to find a purpose and meaning similar to what they experienced in the army, even in civilian life. Their ability to translate the skills they acquired in the military to the job market is far from simple. This is exactly where AsUR steps in! Through meetings and a personal mentoring process, it creates an educational and meaningful journey—an incubator for boldness and the discovery of inner Grit.

AsUR - your own way

The AsUR – Your Way program is designed for discharged female career soldiers who wish to find their purpose in the job market. The journey is divided into two parts:

The first part, AsUR, includes meetings with inspiring speakers from various fields in the job market, alongside diverse workshops. Program participants meet with leading and influential women in Israeli society and beyond, holding management and impactful roles. The speakers share their personal life stories, the dilemmas they faced after their military service, the challenges they still encounter, career and motherhood, effective networking, personal branding, insights, advice, tips, achievements, and yes, even failures. The discharged female soldiers come to the meetings as they are (AS YOU ARE) and learn to discover new and surprising aspects of themselves.

The second part, Your Way, involves a personalized mentoring process for each participant. Each woman follows her own path, at her own pace, with her designated mentor. Through one-on-one meetings, participants receive personal guidance and a glimpse into the lives of their mentors from all sectors and industries in Israel and abroad, providing an opportunity to consult, deepen their knowledge, and gain inspiration for the next steps in their journey.

The program runs two cohorts per year, each lasting approximately three and a half months. Every participant in the program receives a full participation scholarship and is required to pay only a nominal commitment fee. The number of spots in the program is limited in order to maintain its quality, intimacy, and to ensure real personal attention.

Speakers and mentors

The AsUR – Your Way program places great emphasis on its community of speakers and mentors. During the program’s meetings and the personal mentoring process, participants are exposed to speakers and mentors from various sectors of the job market, including business entrepreneurship, technology, senior management, social entrepreneurship, venture capital, innovation, marketing, career development, and more. The goal of the speaker and mentor community is to provide discharged female soldiers with a 360-degree view of the job market, stimulate curiosity, and evoke emotions, enabling them to lay the first milestones on their path to finding their personal purpose. As part of the community that is created, AsUR emphasizes building connections as the foundation for a meaningful career for both speakers and mentors.
