As U R - Your Path To Finding Personal Purpose As Former Female IDF Officer

As U R operates with the aim of guiding former female IDF officers, after significant military service in finding their purpose in the workforce, by developing meaningful careers and advancing women to positions of influence.

From an article in ‘The Marker’: “In my third year of studies, I founded the initiative,
As U R – Your Own Way, which helps released soldiers find their purpose in the workforce. During our military service, we perform significant and broad roles at a very young age. When transitioning to civilian life, we discover that it’s not easy to explain and translate our military abilities into civilian terms that the world understands and values. In addition, it is mentally challenging to make the shift from a significant, ideological role to working in the private sector. I felt all of this myself”.

About

The As U R – Your Own Way program has been operating since 2023 and is the first flagship initiative of As U R. The program aims to guide former female IDF officers, who have completed significant military service, in finding their purpose in the workforce by developing meaningful careers and advancing women to positions of influence. It is designed for women with ambition, courage, and an entrepreneurial spirit, helping them find their personal purpose in civilian life.

As U R was born out of the understanding that women who held broad, responsible, and meaningful roles in the military at a young age often struggle to find a similar sense of purpose and meaning in civilian life. Translating their military-acquired skills into the workforce is far from simple. This is where As U R steps in! Through meetings and a personal mentoring process, it creates an educational and transformative journey—an incubator for courage and the discovery of inner grit.

As U R - your own way

The journey is divided into two parts:

As U R | Lectures and workshops featuring inspiring speakers from various fields. Program participants meet with leading and influential women in Israeli society and abroad, who hold managerial and influential positions. The speakers share their personal life stories, the dilemmas they faced after their military service, the challenges they still encounter today, career and motherhood experiences, effective networking, personal branding, insights, advice, tips, achievements, and, of course, failures. The released officers attend the meetings as they are, learning to discover themselves from new and surprising perspectives.

Your Own Way | A personalized mentoring process for each participant. Each woman follows her own path, at her own pace, with her mentor. One-on-one meetings provide personal guidance and a glimpse into the lives of mentors from various sectors and fields in the Israeli economy and beyond, offering consultation, in-depth exploration, and inspiration as participants prepare to embark on their own journeys.

The program runs three to four cohorts per year, with each cohort lasting approximately three and a half months. The number of spots in the program is limited in order to maintain the program’s quality, intimacy, and to ensure true personal attention.

Speakers and mentors

The As U R – Your Own Way program places great emphasis on its community of speakers and mentors. During the program’s meetings and the personal mentoring process, participants are exposed to speakers and mentors from various sectors of the job market, including business entrepreneurship, technology, senior management, social entrepreneurship, venture capital, innovation, marketing, career development, and more. The goal of the speaker and mentor community is to provide discharged female soldiers with a 360-degree view of the job market, stimulate curiosity, and evoke emotions, enabling them to lay the first milestones on their path to finding their personal purpose. As part of the community that is created, As U R emphasizes building connections as the foundation for a meaningful career for both speakers and mentors.
